Annotation
Once upon a time there was a girl named Goldilocks who went on a walk in the forest. She soon came across an empty house, and decided to go in. Goldilocks didn't realize that she was in the home where the three bears live. Goldilocks ate their food and slept in their beds for them to soon come home and find her there.

How it Connects: The students can relate to how each character feels. They can discuss if they have ever taken something that was not theirs or if someone has ever taken something from them. The reader can use a different voice for the three bears and Goldilocks.

How it Connects: Students can describe the characters in the story and what their traits, motivations, and feelings are. They can also discuss their actions and how each of their actions plays a role in affecting the plot.

Classroom Usage
Small Groups: Students can split up into small groups after the teacher is finished reading the story and discuss how they would feel if someone came into their home and used their stuff without asking. They can discuss the different emotions people go through.

Differentiation
This story would be good for ELL to work on their comprehension.
